Retail in Austrailia

This article reminded me of what was frequently on the news last year. Australia’s retailers are slowing down. Living in the 21st century has allowed consumers to become more viral. With this, people can buy what they want and check prices online. This causes a chain reaction. Australia has been slow to adapting to the online retail world. Because of this, large corporations are running small family-owned shops out of business. High rent prices and competition from online stores puts companies of all types are beginning to collapse. Retail experts are calling the worst the situation the worst retail conditions in two decades. Australia’s retailers will be thinking of new ways to bring customers in to their shops. New shopping trends will emerge. This relates to what we learned in class because dominant images are beginning to change. Pop culture from Australia’s younger generations will be defining a new culture.
